OPA PICNIC! Come Over the River and To the Woods on September 18, 2016!
In the past several years, the OPA picnic has been at Brenda Scott's farm in Damascus and other locations in and around Portland. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
We will be having a change in venue for the OPA picnic this year, bringing it to SAVI Clayworks (my studio) on the Vancouver side of the Columbia River, which is less than 10 miles from the I-5 or I-205 bridges. The
date will remain the same, the third Sunday in September, 9/18/16, starting at 2:00 pm.
We live on an acre and a quarter in the woods in a cedar chalet. It's a lovely setting, and we have
a large deck, and a screened gazebo for
people to gather on, as well as two Easy-up pavilions that we can set up in case it rains. My little studio will be open for a look-see. Parking is a bit limited, so please plan to carpool if you can.
I will have grilled chicken and possibly salmon, and we will count on the members to fill in the blanks with potluck salads, side dishes and desserts. We will also provide some lemonade, soft drinks and beer (likely not on tap); BYOB if you want something else.
Events/Games - Please check your studios for a tool that you don't need or use. Put it in a paper bag, seal it up, and mark it "Tool Grab-Bag." Everyone who brings a tool gets to take a grab bag.
We'll also have a "Seconds Swap." So if you bring a pot, you get to take home a pot from another artist.
And to make it even more fun, please make a greenware bowl to bring for the "Yard Darts Bowl Smash." Keep in mind that greenware bowls should measure 6-10 inches in diameter, and the larger the bowl, the farther you will have to lob the "darts." I will have a couple of Georgie's gift certificates for the winners... ie: smallest smashed bowl, and farthest dart lobbed to smash a bowl, or some such nonsense. ;-).
