Artist Statement
I enjoy designing vessels. Some shapes come from taking classical shapes and exaggerating them, making them asymmetrical and giving them attitude, attempting to make them lively. I decorate my shapes by using colored clay on the surface, employing the ancient art of Nerikomi. Clear glaze is used to make the pieces functional.
