Artist Statement
I love the meditative process of throwing multiples, plus the more focussed intentionality of handbuilt textured work. My work is mostly salt-fired, allowing for a broad range of results from a known set of possibilities.
Biography
I was introduced to clay in high school, attended Alfred University for BFA studies, then MA work at University of Iowa. I moved to Portland in 1978, built my studio in Southeast Portland, then worked briefly at Thurman St. Studios, before moving to my home studio in 1984, where I continue my studio work today.
