Artist Statement
Bill has been making pottery for close to 50 years. His first experience with forming shapes was as a little boy when he and his Mom made dough figures and baked them in the oven. Bill and Sandy and their two children moved 'home' to Oregon in 1997.

In 2005 Bill and Sandy launched 'From Dust to Clay' and in 2007 joined The Oregon Potters Association. In 2012 They founded The Potter’s Vineyard & Clay Art Gallery, where they grow grapes, make wine, host wine tastings, make pottery, and display art in the Gallery.

Bill and Sandy are inspired by the iron rich soils in the vineyard and enjoy using those earthy brown, blue and red colors in their glazes. Their Rustic Vases fill a tall space, and their functional pieces enhance the joy of eating and drinking from hand-made vessels. The work is high fire stoneware.

Customers enjoy the full involvement of browsing in the gallery and purchasing art in person and slowing down to enjoy some wine and a very memorable experience.
