Artist Statement
My sculptures are meant to touch the heart and/or make the viewer think. Sometimes they are comical, sometimes comforting, and sometimes whimsical with an edge.
Biography
After 30+ years of teaching middle school students, I retired and am finally able to pursue my creative endeavors. I am learning continually about glazes, clay types, and techniques, yet I wonder if I will ever feel proficient.

Helping my students discover their creativity was a delight, and now I have more time to see it in myself with a new medium. Through classes and help from Sara Swink, the creatures in the clay are showing themselves to me.
